Fuel Antioxidant Solutions

Crude oil-based and renewable feedstock-based fuels are prone to degradation. Anyone blending or storing fuel, will monitor oxidative contact with air, ambient and storage temperatures, water content and storage time/duration. Oxidation leads to the formation of acids which can corrode engine and fuel injection systems if the fuel is not corrected. SBZ Corporation has a range of proven fuel antioxidants which impact the rate of reaction and stabilize fuel.

Meeting Specification

SBZ Corporation always recommends that stabilizers be added as soon as possible in the production of the fuel. Fuels are often transferred between the production plant and the final customer tank via rail, road and sea. This increases the possibility of air, metal, moisture and bacterial contamination. Once oxidation reaction begins and insoluble by-products (gum) form, it is impossible to reverse the reaction, nor will the stabilizer dissolve the gum.

Applications

Fuel antioxidants are available in a variety of blends and dilutions, from phenolic and aminic antioxidants and sweetening agents for gasolines, to blends of antioxidants and metal deactivators.

Fuel additives will impact the rate of reaction and when used properly do result in very stable fuel.

Who should use them?

Fuel stabilizers are used throughout the supply chain - from Refiners and Biodiesel Producers to Fuel Blenders and Fuel Traders.
